HLA-G molecules act like shields that protect cancer cells and prevent the immune system from eliminating them. Professor Edgardo Carosella, Director of Research at the CEA and Head of Service at the Saint-Louis Hospital, is at the origin of this discovery.  

Immunovadis Limited is a biotech company that has been created with the sole purpose of discovering functional monoclonal antibodies to destroy the shield around cancer cells. The company is now at the last stage of discovering a solution to eliminate the HLA-G shield.
